Ninjasonik finally dropped their highly anticipated When Anxiety Attacks!! mixtape today and it’s fucking ill. I’ve had it on repeat for a while now and it only gets better with each listen. I think this one’s their most solid release yet.
The mixtape features great production work from Roofeeo, DJ Hoff, Teenwolf, Zap! Pow! Die! and features by Hollywood Holt, Johnny Nelson, Spank Rock, Mr. Starcity, Memberz Only, Trouble Andrew and plenty of others.
Last Saturday Babylon aired their first MiniPartyMix® of 2011 put together by Fool’s Gold Record’s Congorock. A playlist isn’t available at the moment, but I do remember hearing (not in order) a remix of Spank Rock‘s Backyard Betty, Laidback Luke’s remix of Carte Blanche & Kid Sister‘s Do! Do! Do!, Congorock’s remix of Mark Ronson & Boy George’s Somebody To Love Me, and Congorock’s very own Babylon featuring Mr. Lexx. I’ll post a tracklist if I figure out the other songs or someone else helps out. Full tracklist added.

Here’s footage of last month’s BBC Xmas Party @ Sonar. Both nights were pretty crazy. I had a really great time just hanging out with friends and making new ones as well. The BBC Xmas Party is officially part of my Xmas tradition.

The UK’s got trio Magnetic Man, now we have WIN WIN. WIN WIN is a new super group made of Chris Devlin, Ghostdad, and XXXchange. Their upcoming album will be released on Vice Records and feature Andrew W.K., Blaqstarr, Spank Rock, Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Douglas Armour, Matt Sweeney, and Lizzi Bougatsos from Gang Gang Dance.
Scion A/V Remix series is releasing a compilation from one the biggest disco artist you’ve never heard of; Mobroder. Mobroder is actually Spank Rock, DJ Hoff, and Blu Jemz‘s imagining of the most successful disco star from the “‘70s searching for his soul in an ‘80s Miami”. I missed their debut show/video recording this past winter (my train from DC to Bmore was canceled at the last minute!), so it’s great to see they’re releasing music available to everyone.

ABC made a small mistake when they described the performance online:
I don’t know… I guess anyone could mistake Spank Rock for the Clipse’s Pusha T. Someone must’ve realized Naeem wasn’t Pusha.. but they changed the lineup of the second performance by adding him to Bang Bang Bang with MNDR instead of Pill.
Pill of course did perform on Bang Bang Bang instead of Spank Rock as Jimmy ended the show and introduced them on stage. I’m sure they’ll have it fixed soon (hopefully by the time you read this).
